Qinglong Mountain International Eco-City, Nanjing, China

First BREEAM Communities certified project in China

Qinglong Mountain International Eco-City aims to facilitate the overall reconstruction of the surrounding area and provide guidance for local development.

BREEAM Communities, as a mature masterplanning standard with high global recognition, was chosen as the underpinning methodology for the development, best suited to the needs of local residents. The project is aiming to be a national-level, green, low carbon, ecological demonstration community.

The use of BREEAM has helped the developer and project team focus on anticipation and real needs of occupiers and other relevant stakeholders at early stage of the project. It has facilitated the creation of a more scientific and comprehensive plan for the project. The main project teams' involvement at an early stage made the development and construction process more environmental and energy efficient. The developer also believes the international reputation of the project is enhanced, and future occupiers will have more comfort and happiness.
